atha khalu mahāmatir bodhisattvo mahāsattvo bhagavantam etad avocat tathāgatagarbhaḥ punar bhagavatā sūtrāntapāṭhe ’nuvarṇitaḥ | sa ca kila tvayā prakṛtiprabhāsvaraviśuddhy ādiviśuddha eva varṇyate dvātriṃśallakṣaṇadharaḥ sarvasattvadehāntargato mahārghamūlyaratnaṃ malinavastupariveṣṭitam [1] iva skandhadhātvāyatanavastuveṣṭito rāgadveṣamohābhūtaparikalpamalamalino nityo dhruvaḥ śivaḥ śāśvataś ca bhagavatā varṇitaḥ | tat katham ayaṃ bhagavaṃs tīrthakarātmavādatulyas tathāgatagarbhavādo na bhavati tīrthakarā api bhagavan nityaḥ kartā nirguṇo vibhuravyaya ity ātmavādopadeśaṃ kurvanti ||


【求譯】爾時大慧菩薩摩訶薩白佛言:“世尊,世尊修多羅說如來藏自性淸淨,轉三十二相,入於一切衆生身中,如大價寶垢衣所纏。如來之藏常住不變,亦復如是,而陰、界、入垢衣所纏,貪欲、恚、癡不實妄想塵勞所污。一切諸佛之所演說。云何世尊同外道說我,言有如來藏耶?世尊,外道亦說有常作者,離於求那,周遍不滅。世尊,彼說有我。”

【菩譯】爾時聖者大慧菩薩摩訶薩白佛言:“世尊!世尊!如修多羅說,如來藏自性淸淨,具三十二相,在於一切衆生身中,爲貪瞋癡不實垢染、陰界入衣之所纏裹,如無價寶垢衣所纏,如來世尊復說常恒淸涼不變。世尊!若爾外道亦說我有神我常在不變,如來亦說如來藏常乃至不變。世尊!外道亦說有常作者,不依諸緣自然而有周遍不滅。若如是者,如來外道說無差別。”

【實譯】爾時大慧菩薩摩訶薩白佛言:“世尊,修多羅中說如來藏本性淸淨,常恒不斷,無有變易,具三十二相,在於一切衆生身中,爲蘊、界、處垢衣所纏,貪、恚、癡等妄分別垢之所污染,如無價寶在垢衣中。外道說我是常作者,離於求那,自在無滅。世尊所說如來藏義,豈不同於外道我耶?”


bhagavān āha na hi mahāmate tīrthakarātmavādatulyo mama tathāgatagarbhopadeśaḥ | kiṃ tu mahāmate tathāgatāḥ śūnyatābhūtakoṭinirvāṇānutpādānimittāpraṇihitādyānāṃ mahāmate padārthānāṃ tathāgatagarbhopadeśaṃ kṛtvā tathāgatā arhantaḥ samyaksaṃbuddhā bālānāṃ nairātmyasaṃtrāsapadavivarjanārthaṃ nirvikalpanirābhāsagocaraṃ tathāgatagarbhamukhopadeśena deśayanti | na cātra mahāmate anāgatapratyutpannaiḥ bodhisattvair mahāsattvair ātmābhiniveśaḥ kartavyaḥ | tadyathā mahāmate kumbhakāra ekasmān mṛtparamāṇurāśervividhāni bhāṇḍāni karoti hastaśilpadaṇḍodakasūtraprayatnayogāt evam eva mahāmate tathāgatās tad eva dharmanairātmyaṃ sarvavikalpalakṣaṇavinivṛttaṃ vividhaiḥ prajñopāyakauśalyayogair garbhopadeśena vā nairātmyopadeśena vā kumbhakāravac citraiḥ padavyañjanaparyāyair deśayante | etasmāt kāraṇān mahāmate tīrthakarātmavādopadeśatulyas tathāgatagarbhopadeśo na bhavati | evaṃ hi mahāmate tathāgatagarbhopadeśam ātmavādābhiniviṣṭānāṃ tīrthakarāṇām ākarṣaṇārthaṃ tathāgatagarbhopadeśena nirdiśanti | kathaṃ batābhūtātmavikalpadṛṣṭipatitāśayā vimokṣatrayagocarapatitāśayopetāḥ kṣipram anuttarāṃ samyaksaṃbodhim abhisaṃbudhyerann iti | etadarthaṃ mahāmate tathāgatā arhantaḥ samyaksaṃbuddhās tathāgatagarbhopadeśaṃ kurvanti | ata etan na bhavati tīrthakarātmavādatulyam | tasmāt tarhi mahāmate tīrthakaradṛṣṭivinivṛttyarthaṃ tathāgatanairātmyagarbhānusāriṇā ca te bhavitavyam ||


【求譯】佛告大慧:“我說如來藏不同外道所說之我。大慧!有時說空、無相、無願、如、實際、法性、法身、涅槃、離自性、不生不滅、本來寂靜、自性涅槃,如是等句,說如來藏已。如來、應供、等正覺爲斷愚夫畏無我句,故說離妄想、無所有境界如來藏門。大慧!未來、現在菩薩摩訶薩不應作我見計著。譬如陶家於一泥聚,以人工、水、木輪、繩方便作種種器,如來亦復如是,於法無我、離一切妄想相,以種種智慧善巧方便,或說如來藏,或說無我。以是因緣故,說如來藏,不同外道所說之我。是名說如來藏。開引計我諸外道故,說如來藏,令離不實我見妄想,入三解脫門境界,悕望疾得阿耨多羅三藐三菩提。是故,如來、應供、等正覺作如是說。如來之藏若不如是,則同外道所說之我。是故,大慧!爲離外道見故,當依無我如來之藏。”

【菩譯】佛告聖者大慧菩薩言:“大慧!我說如來藏常,不同外道所有神我。大慧!我說如來藏空、實際、涅槃、不生不滅、無相無願等文辭章句,說名如來藏。大慧!如來、應、正遍知,爲諸一切愚癡凡夫,聞說無我生於驚怖,是故我說有如來藏;而如來藏無所分別寂靜無相,說名如來藏。大慧!未來現在諸菩薩等,不應執著有我之相。大慧!譬如陶師依於泥聚微塵輪繩,人功手木方便力故作種種器。大慧!如來世尊亦復如是,彼法無我離諸一切分別之相,智慧巧便說名如來藏,或說無我,或說實際及涅槃等,種種名字章句示現,如彼陶師作種種器。是故大慧!我說如來藏不同外道說有我相。大慧!我說如來藏者,爲諸外道執著於我,攝取彼故說如來藏,令彼外道離於神我妄想見心執著之處,入三解脫門,速得阿耨多羅三藐三菩提。大慧!以是義故,諸佛、如來、應、正遍知說如來藏,是故我說有如來藏,不同外道執著神我。是故大慧!爲離一切外道邪見,諸佛如來作如是說,汝當修學如來無我相法。”

【實譯】佛言:“大慧!我說如來藏,不同外道所說之我。大慧!如來、應、正等覺以性空、實際、涅槃、不生、無相、無願等諸句義,說如來藏。爲令愚夫離無我怖,說無分別、無影像處如來藏門。未來、現在諸菩薩摩訶薩不應於此執著於我。大慧!譬如陶師於泥聚中,以人功、水、杖、輪、繩方便作種種器,如來亦爾,於遠離一切分別相、無我法中,以種種智慧方便善巧,或說如來藏,或說爲無我,種種名字各各差別。大慧!我說如來藏,爲攝著我諸外道衆,令離妄見,入三解脫,速得證於阿耨多羅三藐三菩提。是故,諸佛說如來藏,不同外道所說之我。若欲離於外道見者,應知無我如來藏義。”


atha khalu bhagavāṃs tasyāṃ velāyām imāṃ gāthām abhāṣata |


【求譯】爾時世尊欲重宣此義而說偈言:

【實譯】爾時世尊卽說頌曰:


pudgalaḥ saṃtatiḥ skandhāḥ pratyayā aṇavastathā |

pradhānam īśvaraḥ kartā cittamātraṃ vikalpyate || 137 ||


【求譯】人相續陰,緣與微塵,

    勝自在作,心量妄想。

【菩譯】人我及於陰,衆緣與微塵;

    自性自在作,唯心妄分別。

【實譯】士夫相續蘊,衆緣及微塵,

    勝自在作者,此但心分別。
